Chemical Name: (2RS,3RS)-1-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)pentan-3-ol
CAS number: 76738-62-0
Molecular weight: 293.79
Physical and Chemical Properties: The original drug is a white solid. Melting point: 165-166°C, vapor pressure: 0.001 mPa at 20°C. Solubility at 20°C: 26 mg/L in water, 110 in acetone, 180 in cyclohexanone, and 150 in methanol. Storage at 20°C: over 2 years.
Uses: Paclobutrazol is a chemical agent. When diluted with water and sprayed on seedlings, it inhibits dominant apical growth and promotes the growth of lateral buds (tillers). The resulting seedlings appear short, stocky, and have a well-developed root system. This facilitates cultivation and allows for delayed transplanting.
